West Ham star turns into a striker: Sowumni Top Scorer of the CEE Cup 2023

Elisha Sowumni turned 16 just a month ago but in his personal cabinet he already boasts the award of Best Scorer of the CEE Cup 2023.

The West Ham offensive winger was highlighted on the occasion of the 11th edition of the U19 international tournament, played in Prague from 28 July to 1 August, to the sound of quality plays, dribbling and goals.

Born in 2007, Sowumni was among the best of the entire competition, scoring twice in the match against the Verdão, the defending champions who were capable of winning the CEE Cup for the fourth time in a row.

The jewel of the 'Hammers' showed all his talent: deployed on the left in Kevin Ian Keen's 4-3-3, Sowumni faced the three matches of the tournament with great personality and resourcefulness, competing with young stars from three continents and up to three years older than him.

Certainly not an obstacle for someone of his talent, able to confirm himself to be very cool and collected when just a few steps from the goal with a very precise left-handed foot, ending up on the scoreboard twice.

A small-albeit-big milestone for the class of 2007, one of the new stars of the London club, who are the reigning champions of the Conference League, recently won in Prague, and always careful to train new talents directly from their youth academy.
