Another Super-Adam! Karabec scored a beautiful goal in his second outing in professional football

08.06.2020 17:30

Another Sparta megatalent, Adam Karabec, showed the Czech football league what he's made of. Despite playing a mere 4 minutes, the former CEE Cup participant made a splash by scoring the debut goal in his second match for Sparta.

Coach Václav Kotal gave the 16-year-old footballer another chance at the end of the match in Karviná, where Sparta were under by one goal at half time. However, his teammates turned things around in the second half by scoring three goals, and Karabec then put the final nail in the coffin by netting the ball in his second league game.

Andreas Vindheim served the perfect pass to Karabec, who then entered the box and beat the keeper Petr Bolek with an unstoppable shot. "It was a dream for me, I'm beyond ecstatic", the young Spartan told the iSport reporter.

"I was faced with the option of either taking on the defender one-on-one or simply shoot before he even had the chance to contrast me", he added for iDNES.

Karabec made his debut in the league on February 23 of this year, in a match against Sigma Olomouc, just before the coronavirus pandemic grounded everything to a halt. In the game, the coach sent him on the field for the final two minutes. He got the same amount of time in Karviná, but this time he also managed to score. Thanks to his first league goal, he now joins an historical rank by becoming one of the top three youngest shooters of the competition. However, he did not succeed in beating his teammate and other Spartan ace, Adam Hložek, in these statistics.

Karabec attracted a lot of attention at last year's prestigious international youth tournament, the CEE Cup, where he won the 'Best Player' award. He unfortunately missed the chance of winning the cup with his Sparta teammates, when they had to concede defeat in the final against the Brazilian Palmeiras team.
