Augsburg proves to have been the right choice. Ermedin Demirovic has found his ideal place in southwestern Bavaria. The German striker of Bosnian origin is playing a season as an absolute protagonist with the Augsburg jersey.

The class of ’98 footballer has so far collected 5 goals and 1 assist in the first eleven Bundesliga matches in his first year with the Bavarian club.

Coming up in RB Leipzig’s nursery, followed by his debut in Hamburg with HSV, one of the two clubs in the city where he was born and raised, Germany was always in his destiny. First, though, he wandered around Europe for a while, in search of the right environment, beginning with Alaves in Spain, followed by Sochaux in France, before returning to Deportivo Alaves with a brief parenthesis in Switzerland, with San Gallo.

It was during his time with Leipzig that Demirovic showed off his skills in 2016 in Prague, on the occasion of the 6^th edition of the CEE Cup. That year, the tournament was ultimately won by Sparta Prague with a  4-1 win over Fluminense. For the young Bosnian and his teammates, their dreams were to be shattered in the semifinal against the Brazilians.

In August 2020 he was back in Germany, at Freiburg, but eventually made his move to Augsburg last summer in a swap deal for Gregoritsch. After 8 goals and 14 assists in 69 appearances with the Black Forest team, a new adventure in the German top league to get back in the game and prove himself was what he needed.

In Bavaria, Demirovic found the right tactical position in the 4-2-3-1 drawn by Enrico Maaßen. He displayed intelligent movement without the ball, provided assists but, above all, goals. In fact, so far he has scored five of them in the Bundesliga, in a start to a season as an absolute protagonist.

The impact with the new team and the new environment was extremely positive. At 24, Ermedin Demirovic found his ideal spot in Augusta and the right team in which to take the stage.
