Day two: Chinese Beijing surprised a two times champion, Fluminese recorded first win.

22.07.2016 15:00

The first surprise of this year's tournament happened in the first match of the second day. Chinese Beijing Renhe won over ETO Györ, twice the GENERALI CEE Cup champion. After a very convincing run of the game the Chinese club won 2:0. The second morning match saw the Brazilian Fluminense beating Academy Pandev just like they did last year. The second day of this youth football championship started off with the duel between Beijing Renhe and Hungarian Györ.

Chinese club was motivated to improve their reputation after their first game against Sparta Praha in which they lost 0:5. First half of the match against the two times championship winner went very well for Beijing. The Chinese club visibly improved their defence. The first down moment for Beijing came in 33rd minute when thier goal keeper Ning Lu made a mistake and fouled Györ's player which resulted in a penalty shooting. However, Hungarian forward Kódmön did not grasp that chance. If the first half of the game was some what boring, then the second half was the exact opposite. Beijing's Shuai took the lead in 51st minute. The Hungarian team could equeal the score only a minute later but their forward Samadai failed. Shuai punished Györ once more and the Chinese club increased their lead to 2:0. They kept this score till the end.

Fluminense entered the tournament triumphantly

Last year's semifinal match got its repeat on the second day of this year's tournament. Last year the Brazilian Fluminense won over the Macedonian academy of Goran Pandev. It was a perfect chance for the Macedonians to have their payback time. If Pandev's academy won today, they would easily continue to the semifinals at the expense of Brazil.
The atmosphere and pace of the match was great since the kick off. It only took 16 minutes till the first goal went in. Rhuan's head shot sent toe Brazilians to the lead. Pandev had a chance to level the score 6 minutes later when their forward Mishov appeared in the penalty box but unfortunatelly he missed. Brazilian forward Gustavo was clearly the most active player of the first half but he didn't manage to change his two chances into goals and so the score remained the sam till the end of the first half.
The Macedonians went into the second half of the match like hurricane. They could celebrate in 50th minute. It was Mishov again who took the chance and this time it was a goal. However, the score of the game did not stay equal for too long. Only 8 minutes later scored Gustavo on the Brazilian side and put Fluminense back to lead. We could see one  more goal produced by Estevao. Fluminense won over Academy Pandev just like last year. demy Pandev.
